Biography

Robin Avery MD, FIDSA, FAST, has been in the field of Transplant Infectious Disease for 27 years. She is currently Professor of Medicine in the Division of Infectious Diseases (Transplant/Oncology ID Program) at Johns Hopkins. She is a past chair of the AST ID Community of Practice, was founding Section Head for Transplant ID and the Transplant ID Fellowship at Cleveland Clinic, and has served on multiple guidelines committees. Her areas of interest are transplant-related viral infections, resistant/refractory CMV, incompatible kidney transplant recipients, chronic norovirus, strategies for safer living after transplant, ID Fellow education, and patient education.
